Reolô is a quartet consisting of Anders Røine, Hans Kjorstad, Rasmus Kjorstad and Hans Hulbækmo, all playful multi-instrumentalists based in Norwegian folk music and the somewhat vague term “open class”. They released the album “Andre sida” in late autumn 2019 and this year the sequel is released, which was recorded in Juke Joint Studio in Notodden and mixed by Mattias Glavå (Dungen, Elephant9, Håkan Hellstrøm).

Musically, the band moves from Norwegian folk music, via rock grooves with inspiration from both West Africa and America to pure bursts of energy. Or as Arvid Skancke-Knutsen in Klassekampen said: “as if the Velvet Underground had secretly been rehearsing for years in a stabbur”.

With lyrics about prepping, the flock of sheep at full speed towards the precipice and a hard spring, the band tries to say something about modern society, while the focus on groove, close interplay and old-fashioned tonality gives the music a slightly timeless touch.
